SJM encourages family and residents to consider SJM their home. This includes making the room as “homelike” as possible.

However, in order to ensure that the facility remains in great condition we have had to impose a few guidelines.

Resident’s Room Guidelines

Television

  • 36” Flat Screen. If you wish to have it mounted to the wall, maintenance will do so, for a minimal fee. Otherwise a television stand will suffice.

Pictures

  • Only two pictures per room. Picture hanging tools are available in the Administrative Assistant’s office. At no time should you hang pictures with thumbtacks or safety pins. This is considered a resident safety issue.

Memory Box

  • The memory box is on the outside of the Resident’s room. Please put whatever items you feel would “tell a story” about the Resident. It is also used as a memory trigger for the Resident. Key can be obtained from the nursing staff.

Repairs of Room

SJM continually strives to ensure that the facility remains in good condition. Therefore, painting and repairs to rooms is done periodically. Please note that upon discharge there could be a fee charged for any damages to the room—example repairs of picture holes, lazy-boy damage to walls, etc.

Cleaning of Rooms

SJM is very proud of the cleanliness of the facility, thanks to a very attentive group of housekeepers. However, due to time constraints, please note that housekeeping is not responsible for the cleaning of knick knacks, personal items, closets, etc. We ask that family members perform this task on a monthly basis.

Responsible Visiting

PLEASE DO NOT VISIT IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING COLD/FLU LIKE SYMPTOMS

PLEASE PRACTICE HAND HYGIENE WHEN ENTERING AND LEAVING THE HOME

Remember hand washing is the most effective way to stop the spread of infection!! Thank you for your cooperation to ensure our residents stay healthy and safe.
