Smoker Cessation/Management Supports Available

If you are a smoker and are admitted to the hospital, St Joseph’s General Hospital staff will help you to manage your nicotine withdrawal. Your nurse will talk to you about your smoking pattern when you are admitted and tell you about medications that can be prescribed while you are in hospital to manage nicotine withdrawal.  If your admission is for an elective procedure, talk to your doctor about nicotine withdrawal before coming to the hospital. Your doctor can recommend and or prescribe medications that will help you through your hospital stay.
