Who We Are
St. Joseph’s General Hospital Elliot Lake (SJGHEL) is comprised of three sites offering three distinct types of patient-centred care. We have the Hospital – our acute-care, 55-bed facility; St. Joseph’s Manor – our 64-bed Long Term Care Home; and The Oaks – our 68 bed Drug and Alcohol Treatment Centre. Each of these sites together these offer a broad spectrum of career opportunities! Please take a moment and let us introduce you to “The People Behind the Masks”
Our Why

What We Do
As we’ve done for 60+ years, SJGHEL serves all who come to us for care. Every day, every shift, every interaction, we find the way to live our Values of Compassion, Humility and Harmony, Respect, Integrity, Social Responsibility and the Sacredness of Life. We are committed to fostering a positive and progressive workforce that is representative of the citizens we serve.
SJGHEL operates in a leadership environment promoting a “just culture.” A just and learning culture is the balance of fairness, justice, learning and taking responsibility for actions. It is not about blame but it is also not about an absence of responsibility and accountability.
