St Joseph’s General Hospital Elliot Lake is committed to providing patient experience that includes the support of family or loved ones and Spiritual Support Persons. The Virtual Connections Program is a non-clinical communication program that allows for patients and their loved ones to connect with audio or video calls during times of visitor restrictions or when family are unable to visit. The Program will also be available for Spiritual and Pastoral Care visits with patients who are unable to have face to face visits. See attached Policy for more information.
Virtual Connections Program
- Virtual Connections are available from 10am to 9pm daily, and 24×7 under compassionate circumstances
- Upon patient request, nursing staff can contact IT on behalf of the patient to ensure connectivity consistent with SJGHEL guidelines for use
- Requests can be made by phone to all units of the Hospital
