We have learned many lessons since COVID-19 appeared over two years ago, but one of the most powerful has been the absolute criticality of managing our Human Resources.
What We Do
The Human Resources Team is involved in the Recruitment, Selection, On-Boarding and Retention of all Employees at St. Joseph’s General Hospital Elliot Lake, St. Joseph’s Manor, and the Oaks Treatment Centre. They also support all three of our sites in the provision of important services including:
- Recruitment and Retention
- Strategic Planning and Leadership Development
- Occupational Health and Safety
- Wellness
- Ability Management
- Policy Development
- Training Programs
- Media Relations and Social Media Communications
- Employee and Labour Relations
Often the first line ambassadors on behalf of SJGHEL through our recruitment programs, HR must regularly pivot to respond to the ever-changing health care system in order to best serve our community needs by enhancing the patient experience.
Our team is committed to our strategic goal of enhancing the patient experience and fostering a culture of inspired employees.
One consistent message that HR continues to remind everyone is to “live our SJGHEL Values, and remember to be kind.”
