The Oaks is an acute care, accredited, publically funded department of St. Joseph’s General Hospital Elliot Lake. The Oaks offers an eclectic treatment model, tailored to individual patient needs by treating the whole person and has been treating patients since 1984. It is comprised of two departments: Withdrawal Management Services and Camillus Treatment Programs. Oaks Department services are supported and partially funded by The Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care via Ontario Health.
Medical Consultant, Dr. Stanley Shapiro MD CCFP specializes in the treatment of substance use disorders, has been practicing medicine since 1981, and is an expert in the field of addiction treatment and recovery. All departments offer ward, semi-private and private accommodations.
