At SJGHEL we are committed to providing a patient experience that meets the needs of all individuals without discrimination. St. Joseph’s General Hospital, St. Joseph’s Manor, and Oaks Treatment Centre strive to provide services that are reflective of the community members we care for.
Following our organizational values of Social Responsibility and Humility and Harmony, we recognize that barriers to language services can have an impact on how we provide care to patients, which is why we are dedicated to finding ways to increase patient access to interpretation services so that individuals can ensure they are heard and supported in all aspects of their care.
We are dedicated to providing French language services to our Francophone community and have a diverse staff who are fluent in both English and French and are available to provide French language services to meet the needs of the community.
We are also dedicated to providing Ojibwe language services to the Indigenous communities we serve and we are fortunate to have members of staff and gracious community members who can assist with interpretation and translation.
If you or a loved one requires Ojibwe or French language services please inform your care provider and we will do our best to provide compassionate care in the language that works best for you.
